Musical Experience
A graded vocalist of Prasar Bharati, Sutapa is a versatile singer. She is equally comfortable in all forms of Indian musicsemi classical, light, modern, folk, Tagore’s, Nazrul’s, ghazal etc.

Sutapa at her childhood went for a concert of legendary Ustad Ali Akbar Khan, the concert created tremendous influence in sutapa’s musical life, she did not hesitate to immediately go thru the autobiography of the great Ustad, sutapa got enlightened and realized from Ustad’s life, music is the ultimate journey to peace, peace of mind and to achieve needs tremendous dedication, hard work, concentration …. thus started the musical journey of sutapa….

Another legendary singer of India, Padmashree Manna Dey too has a tremendous influence in Sutapa’s musical life, his ability to perform any form of Indian music, his versatility, flexibility of voice, encouraged sutapa to lead her in the same path.

An ardent disciple of Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty, Sutapa was a faculty of “Shrutinandan”. Apart from doing a Masters in music she has also taken her lessons from renowned musical gurus like Biman Mukhopadhay, Chandi Das Maal, Dr. Utpal Goswami, Shubhra Guha and Nirmala Mishra.



Sutapa
is a regular stage performer. Her performance has been lauded in India and abroad. She toured the US, Canada, Japan and South East Asia extensively. She was honoured as the best vocalist in the international music festivals of Canada when she kept an audience of twenty thousand people spellbound.


Sutapa had the privilege to perform in prestigious shows with eminent and legendary performers of India and abroad, to name a few are - in Hawaii, Jeff Peterson, a two time Grammy award winner, in USA with Bob Brozman, the great performer of USA, she was also lucky to perform in Canada in shows where all time great like Cydney Scheldon was also one of the performer. In India she has shared stages with legendary performers like Pandit Ajoy Chakroborty, Pandit Anindya Chatterjee, Nirmala Mishra, Indranil Sen, Shrikanta Acharya and many others." .
